Project Questionnaire

All clients must submit a Project Questionnaire to have their project considered, whether for website/blog design or for any other services I offer. This questionnaire helps me determine what the scope of the project is and whether the project is a good fit for my services. I reserve the right to refuse any projects for any reason.

Payment & Refunds

A downpayment of 50% is required for any website or blog design. The downpayment is required before the project is placed on my Design Calendar. This downpayment is non-refundable unless I need to cancel the project myself.

Payment for any other project, from individual graphics to web services, is due when I actually begin the project.

Design Calendar

Only after your project is accepted, and payment has been made, will your project will be placed on my Design Calendar. At that time I will email you the date on which I’ll begin your project. I will be contacting you when your project date arrives to obtain the necessary details I’ll need to start. I fill my Design Calendar 1-2 months at a time.

Website/Blog Design Revisions

Each website/blog design includes up to three different mockups. After reviewing the first mockup, the client will submit specific feedback, including every change that should be made. If the mockup is not acceptable at all, a second mockup will be sent based on feedback from the first. The same would occur for the third mockup. The client is expected to communicate his feedback with concrete language and/or examples. Additional changes to the design after final approval will incur further charges.

Length of Project

I cannot guarantee that your project will be completed in a specific amount of time, although most website/blog design projects are completed within 1-2 weeks depending on how quickly I receive client feedback and how many revisions are needed. If you have a specific deadline for a project, make sure you make me aware of the deadline before your project is scheduled on my Design Calendar.

Blogger to WordPress Migrations

While all posts can be imported from Blogger into WordPress without a problem, it is not always possible to import all comments. The client must be aware that this is a possibility. Concerning syndication, I will update the Feedburner origin feed address for you, as well as set up redirects for your Blogger feeds, but I can not guarantee that your Feedburner subscriber count will not change (Feedburner is notoriously fickle about subscriber statistics). While I can’t guarantee those statistics won’t change after your move, I can guarantee that the feed URL from your Blogger feed will be redirected to your WordPress feed. Previous subscribers who signed up for your RSS feed through your Blogger feed address should be able to continue receiving updates without having to resubscribe.

Communication

Communication is key to the successful completion of any project. The preferred methods of communication are Skype (text chat only) and email. (You will need to register for Skype’s free service if you are not registered currently.) Skype chats are the ideal for discussing revisions at the beginning of the project because I can do revisions immediately and submit them to the client for feedback. Clients are asked to respond in a timely manner to emails and chats, realizing that extensive delays in responding will extend the time of the project and possibly interfere with other projects on my Design Calendar.

Usernames/Passwords

The client is responsible for providing the usernames and passwords for FTP access, WordPress access, and domain name registration access as needed. All usernames and passwords are kept in the strictest confidentiality, but I encourage clients to change their passwords after the completion of the project.

Copyright

The copyright for your site is transferred to you upon delivery. Another designer may not make changes to the custom images or design without express permission from Small Packages Media. If you choose to remove any portion of the design, you must remove the complete design and use a new WordPress theme. You may not continue to use a premium theme provided as part of our design.

You may provide your own photos or stock images for use in your design. If you choose stock images, you are responsible for compliance with license/photography copyrights. Small Packages Media  is not liable for photos or design elements you provide.

Browser Compatibility

Custom theme designs are designed to be compatible with IE 7 and 8, Firefox 3 and above, Safari 3 and above, and Chrome.

Delivery of Files

At the completion of your project, I will deliver the final files for your use, which will be in either pdf, png, or jpg format.

Portfolio

Clients understand that their website/blog designs and graphics may be used in my online portfolio.

Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a Project Questionnaire, all clients agree to abide by these terms and conditions, even if they have not read them.
